You can find the info you need on their admission website. Here's the admission stats that I found in another CC post:

HPME Admitted Student Profile (2003-04):
Top 1% of high school class
SAT 1 verbal 760
SAT 1 math 775
ACT composite 34
SAT II Chem. 765
SAT II Writing 750
SAT II Math 2C 785

^ those stats sound like most of the people on this board (not me, but hey)

Everyone has a chance! Also, for Northwestern's HPME if you are not indian or asian you have a better chance to get into the program as it looks for diversity.

well im indian, so it sucks. hahaha. its okay, its not my first choice, i dont really want to do 7 year, its more my parents.

wow those are some amazing stats that they require. It should be the top 10% of the admitted students at least.

Don't worry about what the representative said.

NU's engineering is pretty strong and highly ranked:
4 undergraduate and 3 graduate programs ranked in top 10 in U.S. News & World Report
9 undergraduate and 8 graduate programs ranked in top 20 in U.S. News & World Report

NU knows very well if it wants to maintain it's position as one of the nation's premier universities, it has to stay competitive in science/engineering. FYI: A $125 million renovation for the engineering building was completed few years ago.

Sam, what does this have to do with the HPME, lol?

I don't know what happened. It was meant to answer paulhomework's concern in another thread. Maybe I tried to multitask too much and got too many windows opened.
