bump......

i received an application but did not get an interview:

GPA: 3.84

SAT I: M 750, V 800, W 650

SAT II: CHEM 690, MATH IIC 760, BIO M 740

What do you need to be granted an interview?

First off u need good numbers for them to even take a closer look at you. 2250+ preferable and also top few percent in class is preferable, but there are exceptions. After that having impressive extracurriculars related to medicine and especially medical research will help you and show that you have at least had exposure to various facets of the medical field. On top of that, the essay is a big one. You must be very convincing with respect to why and how you have made you decision to become a physician. If you excel in those three components you have a good shot at getting an interview. Unfortunately, since this is one of the few most competitive med programs in the country, lacking in any one of those areas will definitely hurt your chances of receiving an interview. That is why you often see candidates that you think are almost perfect and seem thoroughly qualified, yet still get rejected. The playing field is tough...

Do they mail out rejections for the HPME program? I still haven't received anything.
