HPME question?

Hi! So the HPME page on the website says:

Before beginning the HPME, students must take a year of calculus, including differential and integral calculus.

My question is: Does AP Calc AB or BC fulfill this requirement? There are two classes above that at my school called “multivariable calculus” and “differential equations” but senior year i would be in AP calc AB or BC.

It also says:
AP Chemistry is strongly recommended. If a student does not take AP Chemistry and is admitted into the program, they must take the Northwestern Chemistry placement exam the summer before they matriculate to Northwestern.
Entrance Exams
Applicants are required to take the SAT Reasoning Exam and SAT Subject Exams in Math Level 2 and Chemistry. The ACT with writing may be substituted for the SAT Reasoning Exam.

I plan to take AP chemistry my senior year (which starts fall 2017), so wouldn’t it be impossible to take the SAT subject test for it in time to do well? I have taken a basic chemistry course, just last summer, but i don’t remember much of it.

either way, i would prefer to go to PLME as opposed to this program so it’s not really a let down if i don’t fulfill the requirements.
thanks!

Calc AB meets the requirements!

Calc AB does meet requirements. If my math is correct, you’re in grade 10? You definitely have time to prepare for the SAT Chem then, and you don’t need AP ( I didn’t). HPME seems like a an amazing program!!! Both PLME and HPME are VERY tough to get into, so don’t not fulfill the requirements because you like Brown better. Apply to as many of these programs as you can if you really want to go the direct medicine route.
