HS Class of 2015: Which Common App prompt do you plan on answering?

I’m doing 2!

5!

I’m did 2 too. My brother suggests that I edit it into a #4, but I’m not sure how that might work

@Metz987 I didn’t write about an actual place either  I think it should be fine.

Number 2 !

I’m doing number 2 or 4. I feel that with number 2, I can explain why I did so poorly in class.

Originally, I planned to respond to Prompt #2 with an extremely abstract, and, in retrospect, horrible extended metaphor about basic backtracking algorithms. Then I switched to 1/4, planning to write about some intellectual ideas that excite me (unfortunately, they tend to bore other people).

Currently, I’m working on an essay that responds to multiple prompts (3/5), and I’ll mark the correct prompt once I’m finished. :)

I’ve written #1, mainly because it was the prompt that best fit what I wanted to talk about.

I wrote an essay for Prompt #1. Now I’m thinking it’s probably better off as a supplement for Harvey Mudd (how my background influences the problems I want to solve). I am now brainstorming for the main common app essay once again

4

1

I was thinking of doing that too!! but it’s pretty hard when I come to it… so i guess i’m changing the plan…

1 is the only one I can write well. 4 seems to be a bit disadvantageous in my opinion.

4

5

1 because it also helps explain why my grades took a dip my sophomore year and part of junior year ^^;

I’m doing number 1, Some students have a background or story that is so central to their identity that they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.

I am doing number 1. :)

I’m doing no.1; personally, I find it to be the most versatile (any background or a story that influenced you works, really, since the word identity is such a broadly defined term).
No. 4 was tempting, but I then realized that I would be losing too much of the few of the precious 650 words on actually describing the place, especially since my place was a bit cluttered.
