HS Junior Year Schedule

I am currently a sophomore and would like some feedback and advice on a potential schedule for next year. What can I expect from these classes (workload)?

AP Junior English
AP U.S. History
Honors Al/Trig
Honors Spanish 4
Honors Chemistry

i took effectively the same schedule as a sophmore with
AP Language
AP world
AP euro
honors precalc/trig
honors spanish 3/4
honors chem

the workload really wasn’t too bad, so I think you should be fine with it

I have nearly that same exact schedule right now as a junior (but I take AP Chemistry), and it’s basically murder. It depends on your school, but is imperative to stay on top of scheduling. Best wishes :)

I also have almost that exact same schedule (all the ones you listed, plus some). It’s not too bad for me but it depends hugely on where you go and who your teacher is. To be honest, it varies even within my school depending on who you have for different stuff.

For me, it’s not too bad but I have block scheduling. My first block also pretty much functions as a study hall (I never have to do anything) so I can always get some work done then.

HSL ftw hahaha

HSL, the english class is the “actual” AP class ;)

AP Junior English—Busywork for anyone with a high CR score.
AP U.S. History–A lot of evil, pointless work for anyone who wants to go into math/science
Honors Al/Trig–Should not be hard at all…
Honors Spanish 4–Depends on your school, but if you did well beforehand…
Honors Chemistry–Depends on your school

It depends too on how your school does scheduling. The workload is not just based on your courses, but the number of your courses in comparison to a full load at your school.

Haha, what type of schools do you guys go to? That schedule is horrific at my school, next to impossible to maintain a 4.0. But then again, the teachers are sub-par at my school, and we have to teach ourselves quite a lot. Good luck to everybody! :)

I go to public school and AP English and AP US are supposed to be the hardest classes in the school…

My AP Language class is taught like a second AP History class. If you’re not a foreigner and can write a proper essay(something you sure as hell will pick up in AP US) then you’re better off self studying and taking the honors version.
Take pre-calc. My class was half and half trig/ college algebra and I was more than prepared to jump into calculus.

I’m a sophomore, and my schedule is similar

Honors English
AP European History
Honors Al/Trip
Spanish 3
Honors Chemistry

It’s not too bad, but I have an extremely difficult Chem teacher, so Chem and AP Euro take up all my time. Your schedule seems pretty ok. As long as you can handle the AP classes, fine.

AP Junior English - Idk, a lot of writing though
AP U.S. History - memorizing stuff
Honors Al/Trig - not hard as long as you get math
Honors Spanish 4 - fine
Honors Chemistry - fine as long as your teacher isnt evil like mine

Beware of the AP English, in the same way you would beware of a large mother bear when you’re near her cubs. Otherwise should be an all right schedule, though.

Our humanities classes aren’t the hardest in the school (well AP US and AP English are by far hardest humanities classes in school. That is, waaaay more difficult than APs that seniors take). I go to a small, competitive private, and people at HYP say they have much more freetime in college than when they went to this school. But my school system is pathetic. People leave our school to go to publics, load up on APs, and then make striaght As after struggling to get Cs and Bs. Haha, gotta love the “awesome” schools in my area. Learn nothing at the publics, or struggle to teach yourself at the privates. Ahhhhhh…
