Some nostalgia here. Lawlz was a very good ■■■■■.

The good students at my school ordinarily have:
9th- Geometry
10th- Algebra II
11th- Pre-Calculus/ Analysis of functions
12th- AP Calculus AB or BC
I think Calc BC is the highest math there is at my school. The average student usually takes Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II and some other math class their senior year at my school.

At my school, good math students take
8th - Alg. I - must take placement test
9th - Alg. II
10th - Geometry
11th - Trig.
12th - AP Calc. AB
Also, there is a stats class, but that is generally for seniors who don’t want to take Calc. or Trig

At my school:

Slower students: Integrated Algebra->Geometry->AlgII/Trig->Pre-Calc
Majority of the grade: Geometry->AlgII/Trig->Pre-Calc->Calc (honors kids will do AP)
Advanced kids: AlgII/Trig->Pre-Calc->AP Calc AB/BC (BC generally)->Math Topics (intro to MVC)

Stat is taken by kids who want another math class/don’t want to do Calc or Math Topics.

Block scheduling at my school allows a lot of kids at my school to be done with Calc III after junior year (and this is with taking both AP AB and BC). Then they are able to take Linear Algebra at the University of Minnesota senior year. Algebra 1 7th, Geometry 8th, Algebra 2 and Pre-Calc sophomore year (doubling up with block), Calc AB and BC junior year (you have to take both at my school), and so on.

My school system has three tracks. I’ll go from 6th grade to 12th grade. There is so variation in the order when it comes to lower-level high school math classes, however.
LOW (Math 6, Math 7, Math 8, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Tech Math/Discrete/Advanced Functions and Modeling)
MEDIUM (Math 6, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Discrete/AFM/Honors Calculus or AP Calc AB)
HIGH (Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, AP Calc AB, AP Calc BC/AP Stats)

There is some room for customization. I know “over-achievers” from the middle range that took Pre-Calculus over the summer so they could take AP Calc and AP Stats while in high school. I took the high sequence with some alterations. (Pre-Algebra, Alg I, Geo, Alg II, AP Stats, Pre-Calc, and AP Calc AB (May take BC next year and just skip AB. But probably not)).
