For example, here are some articulations from ASSIST.org, needed RCC CIS/CSC courses, and uncovered CS courses at the UC/CSU (math other than discrete math, physics, etc. requirements not listed here):
RCC â UCR: Welcome to ASSIST
5, 7, 11, 17A, 17B, 17C, 18A, 18B (0 courses uncovered)
RCC â UCI: Welcome to ASSIST
7, 17A, 17B, 17C (7 courses for 29 quarter units uncovered)
RCC â UCLA: Welcome to ASSIST
5, 11, 17A, 17B, 17C, MAT 6 (1 course for 4 quarter units uncovered)
RCC â CSUSB: Welcome to ASSIST
5, 11, 17A (7 courses for 16 semester units uncovered)
RCC â CPP: Welcome to ASSIST
11, 17A, 17B, 18C (6 courses for 19 semester units uncovered)
RCC â CSUFullerton: Welcome to ASSIST
5, 7, 11, 17A, 17C, 18A, 18B, 18C (5 courses for 15 semester units uncovered)
Based on the above, RCC CIS/CSC course offerings appear to be optimized for transfer to UCR (not a huge surprise). Fortunately, the set of RCC courses that completely cover the UCR lower division CS courses also apply to other UCs and CSUs nearby, but if you transfer to those other campuses, you will have to take some âcatch upâ courses after transfer, possibly needing an extra quarter or semester to graduate.
Note also the varying amount of math and non-CS science required by the different four year schools (out of those listed above, UCLA and CSUFullerton appear to have the largest volume of such).
