HS Senior here - suite style or traditional dorms?

I'm going to be a freshman at San Jose State next year and I have to fill out my housing app. I'm not really sure of whether I want to live in the suites or the traditional dorms. I visited over the weekend and was impressed quite impressed with both. I think I would feel more comfortable in the suites (8 people, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, common living area and kitchenette) but I also think that this might hinder my chances at meeting lots of people. Right now I'm quite introverted and have a half dozen good friends but not much more. I would like to change this and meet lots of people, and I think that a dorm would be better for this. However I'm not a fan of the whole dorm layout (especially sharing a bathroom with a ton of other people). Dorms would be cheaper though...

Can anyone that has lived in both share some pros and cons to each?

id suggest traditional dorm if you are going to be a freshman. Don’t worry about having to share the bathroom cuz you’ll get used to it and its not that big of a deal.

live in the dorms, its a great way to meet people and get involved. Some people really love it, some don’t but its only one year! I think its worth it even though it can be so much more expensive than an apartment.

In this case, yes go with the dorms. It’s interesting though, because the dorm description sounds a lot like my friend’s suite description (and I’ve visited her and seen it btw). Her “suite” is a hallway with about 10 or 11 rooms and about 20ish people with a common area. They have a male bathroom and female bathroom (2 toilets and 2 showers each).

I’m starting at Eastern CT next year and we have a suite. It’s two bedrooms (3 girls to one room, 2 to the other) and we share the bathroom, a pantry and a living room area.
It’s more expensive than regular dorms and hopefully worth it!
