HS senior needs help deciding.....

Hi, I am a HS senior with a 3.5GPA tough courses private school. 2100 SAT's

I am interested in Software Engnr or CE. I have taken AP Comp Sc in 10th grade and done Webdesign stuff in my free time. I enjoy programming.

My college list is
UIUC
UT
GT
CMU

Need to add some more colleges and I wanted advise regarding 'rounded' colleges with good CS majors. I would like to avoid extreme cold (I am aware UIUC/CMU gonna be real cold, lol, thats why I need suggestions). Would like a to have a real college campus experience, but rah rah spirit is not a priority.

I am OOS (no aid) US citizen living abroad. Thanks!

I’d suggest you investigate some of the fine west coast schools:

UCB ( [Computer Science Division | EECS at UC Berkeley](http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/) )

Cal Poly SLO ( [Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering - Cal Poly Computer Science Department](http://www.csc.calpoly.edu/programs/bs-se/) )

UCSB ( [Department of Computer Science](http://www.cs.ucsb.edu/) )

With your stats you have a decent chance of getting in (though budget concerns may impact OOS candidates.) I can’t speak to what your “real college experience” will be like but I can guarantee no snow… :)

This post is good help, DS has similar stats, no snow requirement!

Osdad UCSB will be a good choice for OOS kids? Will look into their CS program, although am scared of their bikini and beer reputation!
