I am a HS senior in Richmond, VA. I know it is too late to change anything, but I want to know what I should expect so I am not too surprised/dissapointed come a few weeks from now.

I was born in Iran, English is not my first language. I am also in a very poor family (does that even matter?)

Stats:
I have a 3.7 weighted GPA
Rank is 95/400 ish
SAT I: 1340 (650 math, 690 verbal)
SAT II: Wrting 590, Math IC 660, US History 740
I have taken 1 AP test and got a 4 (European History)
6 hours community service

EC
I have played football and lettered twice, also 1 award.
FBLA, Young Democrats Society, Spanish Club. Editor in a literary magazine.

I want to know what my chances are in the following colleges:
William & Mary
James Madison University
Virginia Tech
University of Virginia
American University

I think you should get into James Madison, your SAT score is well above their average. For William and Mary I would lean towards a yes. It definitely helps that you live in Virginia, and I would say that your test scores are very good for someone whose native language is not English. However, they did get a record number of applications this year so the competition is very fierce. I only know about those two because I applied to both of those as well. Good luck!

A reach is a school that may be a long shot for you to get in, where the odds are somewhere less than 50-50, on paper you may be below their average admit.

But on the plus side you are in-state for W&M and UVA so I'd think you definitely have some kind of chance, no one can say how much of a chance. The problem is most people who get accepted to those 2 schools are from top 10% or at least 20%. You're below that and your scores are good but they don't stand out in their pools so that's why I'd say they're a reach.
