Hey everyone, I'm a high school senior applying to Stanford, and looked all over their website but can't seem to find the answer to this question: How should college transcripts (in my case, from classes taken over the summer) be sent? There's no mailing label available, and I'm hung up on whether I should get the transcript sent to my house and then give it to my hs counselor as part of secondary school report, or if I should ask the university to send it directly to Stanford, with no mailing label or common app ID on it. The university sends the official transcript in an envelope that reads "void if opened", so Stanford can't exactly suspect that I've messed with the grades in it if I send it to my house.

I think the best option is to have your counselor put it on your secondary school report - at least, that is what my daughter is doing. As a backup, you could also have it sent to Stanford, but I too am dubious it will ever get matched with your file. But it's worth a try.

Bummer! I have the same exact question and problem. The admission's office has specifically asked for papers, letters, and transcripts not to be folded/stapeled.

In my case, my college transcript is also folded and sealed shut in an envelope and it also reads "Unofficial is seal is broken."

Egh... truth is, I'm hesitant to contact Stanford directly about it, because of the high volume of questions they're probably getting right now. I'll probably end up doing what Ailey helpfully suggested. Thank you!

I am sure it will be fine to send that sealed transcript as is with the school transcript and the counselor's rec. You could also request a transcript to be sent sent directly to Stanford.
