Hi, i know on the log in system that we got when we applied to UVA says the HS transcript takes 3-4 weeks to get taken away from the to-do list. It has been a little over that time since my high school counselor sent the transcript, and it is still on the to-do list. I was wondering if there was anyone to contact to make sure everything was sent from my counselor to the right place.

Don't worry about it right now. Remember, UVa will get somewhere around 18K applications, but probably more than that. Dean J has always stated that UVa will contact you if you've submitted an application but are missing something else (especially a transcript). If your counselor sent it, there's very little chance it's missing, big chance that they haven't had enough time to update their system.

Although UVa didnt use the common app last year I do remember the frustration I felt in the lack of feedback I got on the common app system. One example that comes to mind is that I knew immediately that UVa rec'd my teacher recs, but I had no idea about whether my common app schools did because there was so little feedback available.

Give it a little more time. If you think this one item is standing between you and a completed file that would otherwise be ready for review send an email. Things get lost. Last year I sent a college transcript for some courses that I took at the local cc. Weeks if not months later, while applying for scholarships, I was made aware that a glitch in the cc system failed to send the transcript to all of the colleges I sent it to. Luckily Dean J saw this on this board and wrote "Fax it tomorrow!" I went to my gc the next day who quickly faxed it.

Stuff happens, stay on top of it.
Good luck!

My daughter had the same concern. Her online status at the UVA Student Information System Self Service Portal did (and still does) list the same status. I sent the Admission's Office an email and received the following in response:

"Thank you for contacting the Office of Undergraduate Admission.

We will contact XXXXXXX only if her application file is incomplete. There is nothing she needs to do at this time.

Thank you for your patience!

Sincerely,
Office of Undergraduate Admission
