Should I request official transcripts every time I finish a year of HS in case I move? I heard that if you move schools, it’s better to have a transcript to present to the new school.
Ex: end of freshman year, get transcript, end of sophomore year, get transcript, etc
Yes, I would do that just in case. Usually (if not always), if you moved, the guidance counselor from your old school would be able to forward/send a copy of your transcript to the new school, but having a copy of your own wouldn’t hurt. Having your official transcript on record might be nice for your own convenience too. At my school, the guidance counselor prints out an official copy at the time of scheduling, so you could ask then. Additional copies can be requested when it is time to apply to colleges. I’ve always liked this because it’s an easy way to see my academic history all in one place, but even if you don’t have a copy of the official transcript, you’ll probably be fine.
