Hey, I am planning to attend a college for a year and transfer out, but the college I will transfer to also requires my HS transcript.

So I'm wondering, I will be out of hs...will my hs still have my record and still have my transcript? They did give me my diploma, report card, and trasncript, but won't the transcript have to be sealed and signed and stuff?

Basically can someone explain to me more about the transcript and how we are supposed to obtain it/send it out if we are planning to transfer?

Thanks

you should really just ask your high school, but as far as i know they keep the records for at least several years at most places, and you can ask them to send the transcripts over for you -- make sure you keep a copy of yours just in case though!

Yeah they gave me my transcript a few days ago, but is that the one colleges will most likely ask for? I thought that there was like an "official" transcript or something, with a seal or something.

I do have my final transcript with everything on it though, I will be going to college in Fall 08, but is that the one they will ask for just in case my school doesn't have it a year from now?

Anyone have any experience where they lost it after a year?

I'm just worried if I want to transfer, they don't have it anymore!

In my school they keep the transcript for 50 years. It's supposedly a rule for circumstances such as yours. I believe this is true for every school; it's a general rule?
