We had the March Madness Free Pool a couple months ago in which Harambee captured 1st, jkaufman captured 2nd, and I captured 3rd. We had a really good turn out for this - 23 people joined and I'm hoping we can get similar (or better yet, higher) numbers for the World Cup Pick'Em.

It's really simple - pick the winner and guess the score (only pick the first 2 group intervals for now).

If you don't know anything about soccer - don't worry because there is an Information button giving you who the Yahoo community is picking along with scores that people are predicting.
If you watch soccer, but just need something to get you into the action this year, this would be perfect for you.
If you are a diehard soccer fan, well then, you don't need persuasion to join :)

I attended the Czech/USA soccer game yesterday, and I have officially come down with World Cup fever. So join the group at the link posted above (and below) and let's go USA!

^Yeah, [that song](K'NAAN [Waving Flag] on Vimeo) is perfect for the event and I’m glad that FIFA chose it as the official 2010 World Cup anthem. It represents what the world cup is all about, unifying the world through the beautiful game. I had to rep’ it

I’m totally blasting it next Friday morning before the Cup begins w/ South Africa/Mexico. The song has a very nice/slight “new age/electronica” undertone that gives a feeling of hope along with the unifying/harmonizing “OH’s” at the beginning. And then there’s the beautiful lyrics. Such a wonderful time every 4 years - that 1 month between June and July.

“Give me freedom, give me fire, give me reason, take me higher. See the champions take the field now. You define us, make us feel proud. In the streets our heads are lifting as we lose our inhibition. Celebration - it’s around us. Every nation - all around us. Stay forever young. Singing songs underneath the sun. Let’s rejoice in the beautiful game and together at the end of the day, we all say…‘when I get older, I will be stronger. They’ll call me freedom, just like a wavin’ flag. When I get older, I will be stronger. They’ll call me freedom, just like a wavin’ flag. So wave your flag, now wave your flag, now wave your flag!'”
