HSSEAS Dean's Scholarship?

I got an email stating:
“Congratulations! Your academic performance and overall high school achievement is truly exceptional and shows a commitment to excellence. We are pleased to offer you a Dean’s Scholarship. This prestigious award from the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science (HSSEAS) is offered to a very small number of our top applicants.”

My question is, how many people (what percentage of accepted students) get this award? My award was $46,000 over 4 years. And is this scholarship only for engineering students?

I don’t know the statistics, and I haven’t even heard of this award before (was not in HSSEAS, but have many friends who were), but it sounds great! Being an HSSEAS Dean’s Scholarship, yes, this particular one is only for engineering students. It seems like a rare and prestigious award indeed.

If they’re giving you that much money, I can’t imagine they offer a lot of those scholarships. That’s not chump change. You’re probably in the upper, upper tier of admits.

@alicantekid‌ @phospholipase‌ I am actually out of state, so its not that much money compared to full tuition…

I was just wondering if anyone had heard of this, but I guess not…

Why does it matter how many other people get it? $46k is $46k whether just you or 5,000 other people get it.
