Hi all,

I dug up a few threads on this, but didn't find them overly informative. Does anyone know much about the HST Medical Engineering/Medical Physics program? I had a phone interview today, and I was very intrigued. I applied mostly for basic science PhD programs, and already have offers at Harvard biophysics and MIT physics. But I do love the idea of research with clinical impacts and the profs do awesome research. I question my ability to switch from my background in basic research science to a more applied, bioengineering program. The program has a lot of coursework and seems to take closer to 6 or 7 years on average, but the profs claimed that it was such an empowering degree that graduates could get professorships straight out without a postdoc. So I don't know. I won't get to go to the official visitation weekend due to a conflict (which I wasn't too upset about because they wanted "business formal" attire for the interview.......really???) but if admitted I will probably try to chat with some current MEMP students during my visits to Harvard and MIT. Anyone have any input?
