College Admissions Rates Drop For The Class Of 2015

Not sure if this is posted yet but here's the list so far. Very competitive this year.

Harvard University: 6.2%
Columbia University: 6.4%
Stanford University: 7.1%
Yale University: 7.4%
Princeton University: 8.4%
Brown University: 8.7%
MIT: 9.6%
Dartmouth College: 9.7%
University of Pennsylvania: 12.3%
Duke University: 12.6%

Washington University-St. Louis: 15.4%
Cornell University: 18%
Northwestern University: 18%
Tufts University: 21.8%
UCLA: 25.3%
University of Virginia: 32.3%

Yeah, kind of ridiculous. And that doesn’t even include remaining schools…

man. this is approaching med school acceptance rates.

I DOUBT WUSTL is 15%…I really really doubt that. wth?

And where’s Berkeley, RML? Shouldn’t you go pick a fight with Huffpost? I mean how dare they forget the world’s most prestigious university ?

cornell is really starting to level out. they still got a record number of applications and a record low admission rate though. =]

Holy crap… I’m never gonna get into college v:/

vandy was 15% or something.

The NYTimes just compiled a longer list of colleges, so I would suggest to anyone who is curious about other colleges to look there as well.

"I DOUBT WUSTL is 15%…I really really doubt that. wth? "

Why not? They received 29000+ applications this year for 1600 spots… So, if we assume that the school used the expected 31-33% yield to accept students, they should have accepted 4500. which is around 15%

^Numbers for WUSTL: 4440/28,826=15.40%

Sorry BearCub. I was expressing my shock at how selective this school has become. For some reason I keep thinking its a school with a 20~% admit rate like Vandy, Rice, JHU…

Also, can someone tell me the admit rates of Caltech, Williams, Pomona, Amherst, and…Berkeley? Please?

^Amherst has not released their decisions.

In other words, dear god…this is madness.

I’m rather shocked with Brown Univ. at 8%… Always thought of Brown as one of those 20% acceptance rate schools as well.

These low acceptance rates will probably mean other still pretty good schools like Rutgers-NB, NYU, etc. will become more competitive as well, mostly from people expecting to be Ivy-rejects.

vandy was 15%? and notre dame was 24? ***ff. thats all
