So I have taken the SAT I in January (currently a Junior in CA) and didnt do so fly. Lets just say average. I am most probably going to apply to BU, BC, RU, NEU and i know they need 2 sats i believe

So in that case i am retaking my SAT I in october and am planning to take the CHEM AND MATH IC SUB TESTS

However when should i take them? Its April 2 (and it says reg deadline for may exam is April 1 : Regular Registration Deadline Apr 1, 2008 Late Registration Deadline Apr 10, 2008........does that mean i have to pay late fee now? )

Well i dont feel really much prepared for MATH IC in 25 days and am enrolled in a Algebra 2 class though.

I was planning on taking Chemistry come June since i am taking Chemistry right now as well.

When do ED/ EA applications go out generally though? Since if i do take 1 June - 1 october- and 1 november can i fit all three before the Apps?

Any advice ? Stuck

Can you take the Chemistry test and the Math I subject test on the same day? That will save money. Take both the Chemistry and Math I in June if you can, so that you only have to pay one registration fee, then retake the SAT in October. Problem solved!

Sorry I don’t have any answers to your questions… I just wanted to give you a piece of advice that I’ve seen floating around here on CC. It seems that colleges really don’t want you to take the Math I subject test… it’s pretty much a joke to them. They much prefer Math II. But that’s just what I heard.

Yes, but if you don’t know the math to take the Math II, then Math I is the way to go. If you know precalculus and take the Math I, that’s different. You’d get an 800, and obviously that would be a joke. It’s not that colleges prefer Math II over Math I, but you should take the one that suits your level. If you know precalculus, then clearly the Math II is preferred.

For some reason though my GC in school said it wont be in time? She said that 2 weeks ago.

Has anyone done this before in time for early decision for schools Like BU, Fordham, NYU?

I applied ED to Penn, so I can’t speak for the specifics of the schools you’ve listed.

October scores will definitely be ready in time for ED applications; they’re released towards the end of October, and I have yet to hear of a college which does not accept them for early apps. November tests do vary from college to college; some will accept them if you rush it, some will accept them through normal delivery, and some just won’t consider them at all. Take a look at the colleges you are looking at to see what they recommend.

I took the SATI in October for the first time, and the SATII in November (also 1st time) and made it in time for ED apps.

Check to see when the early decision due dates are. You can probably take the October ones; also, if you want, contact the school and ask them if they accept scores from the October test if you plan to apply early decision.
