Huge dilemma

Local employers' perception of Australian uni grads:

I am aware that local employers (especially in the government sector) are skeptical of Australian university grads due to their belief that the latter are usually local uni rejects.

(a) BUT what about the private sector in Singapore? Are they as skeptical as well?

While it is true to a certain extent that some local university rejects went to Australia, I believe that they usually go to the second-tier G8 universities such as UWA and UQ. On the other hand, certain universities such as UMelb and Australian National University (ANU) have much higher entry standards though .

(b) So, how do local employers (both government and private sector) perceive such top-notch Aussie unis? Are they the exceptions?

SMU business or University of Melbourne (commerce):

(a) SMU biz graduates, as I know, are quite valued in Singapore as they enjoy the best employment prospects among all local uni business graduates.

But, I REALLY do wish to work overseas in the future, and if possible, migrate. In this aspect, I am concerned that SMU is not as globally recognised as UMelb yet.

So, with regards to overseas employment prospects, would I be right to say that UMelb would serve me better?

(b) Furthermore, I heard UniMelb is pretty renowned for its business programme. Thus, despite the rigorous biz education in Singapore, is the standard of UMelb's business programme higher than SMU or even NUS/NTU for that matter?
