HUGE Mistake?

I got accepted to UCLA but…

I just reviewed my submitted application, and in the self-reported academic record for some odd reason I only put courses which satisfy the A-G requirements. I didn’t put my entire academic history of classes taken.

For example in 9th grade section:
-I put English, Math, and Spanish.
-But left out AutoShop, and Physical Science(which i got a D in) and PE.

Am I in big trouble? When they review the official transcript will they take away my admission???

Also… I took Algebra 2A over again even though I got a “C” because I felt I was unprepared. But I didn’t list it twice or say it was a repeat…

Basically… do you think they will take away the admission for these things?

Any one with some input? Im stressing over this.

I have no idea. Oh, what a tough spot.
If it makes you feel any better, I went to California and took a day to visit UCSD. When I got home I read on my confirmation that I hadn't applied to UCSD by mistake.
So I guess that's out.
:)
Best of luck, wish I could tell you something...

Hmmm, I'd say it's definitely going to be a problem; not something that's just going to slide.

The only thing I can suggest is calling them up and asking what's going to happen or what has to be done.

But the classes I forgot to put dont change my gpa. I only omitted electives. The class i got a D on in 9th grade was a science elective. Also, the repeat of Alg 2A I was told wouldnt count anyways because they would take the grade I got the first time i took it.

But it would still be a problem??

To the admissions committee, It would seem like you were lying on your application. I suggest calling them and explaining your mistake.

The reason this happend was because I filled the application out at school. They handed me a UC transcript which had the classes which UC would accept I guess. I filled that out completely (except for repeat for Alg 2a) It didnt have all these electives and other classes.

I can't believe this... :(

I think you were only suppose to fill out courses that fulfill your a-g requirement. We also got a UC transcript that listed only the A-G classes, and counsoler's told us to only put those on our application. We had Health/Intro to HS during freshmen year that wasn't a part of "college prep" courses (a-g classes). I saw my friends' applications during the filling period to proofread, none of us put down health/intro to hs as a part of the app. i think it's okay if you left out classes taht werent a part of the a-g requirement. We also had PE, (I assume it's the same as your physical science) and we weren't suppose to put that on our application.

I think the only thing you have to worry about is not putting repear for alg2.

The autoshop and PE..doesn't matter..but the Physical science is an A-G course even though it was an elective...I think you should have put it down..but since it is in the 9th grade portion..maybe it doesn't matter?? Just call...it wouldn't hurt

Also, notice that under "g" college prep electives, it says only report UC-approved college prep electives. If autoshop, physical science and pe arent consider college prep electives, then you have nothing to worry about.

https://admissions.ucop.edu/doorways/list/

check on that website to see if those courses are considered uc-approved college prep classes at your school.

My physical science is a science elective not a PE...so it doesnt fall under UC approved..but do you think they would terminate my application just for forgetting to put repeat Alg 2a? I didnt even fail it i got a "C" and I put "C" on the app too...I just retook it to understand it better.

Will it be better to call the university or email?

I bet calling would be better. I tried to email them something about my Honors eligibility being screwed up but they sent an automated message back telling me to change my subject to "Specific Question" while warning me that I probably wouldn't get an answer for the next ten days.

Thanks...Anyone else with suggestions or input?

wait
i thought that you didn't have to put in pe

sry accidentally ended that message too soon

no one else in my class put pe down or health ed/career ed/ drivers ed

i thought that stuff wasnt required?

call them up! let them know! NOW! the sooner the better as decisions are coming up real soon

Max, why do you keep coming back to CC when you should be communicating directly with UCLA? They are used to students making mistakes with data entry, and UCLA is the only one who can answer your questions and resolve the issue.

I know that students input their classes and grades online, but didn't you still have your hs send an official transcript?

The sooner you contact UCLA, the better, otherwise it'll look like you were trying to mislead them.

Max, you should have just gone to the UCLA website, even though your specific question isn't addressed !!!

I know how much some of you like to "play" on CC, but UCLA has done a good job with providing information online for applicants who were accepted to Fall 2006.
http://www.admissions.ucla.edu/NewBruins.htm

Go there before asking questions here on CC...

I just realized this today..I called right away but I got an automated message saying that they are only open for admission advice from 1 pm to 4 pm mondays-fridays. I am extremely stressing over it because UCLA was my dream school. Also, my family and friends are so proud of me and its so depressing that ill have to tell them.

...from the University of California system-wide website...

Report All Academic Courses
Students must report in the Academic History, using complete titles, all academic courses completed in grades 9, 10 and 11; all academic courses in progress and planned for grade 12; any math or English college course and any transferable college/university courses completed, in progress or planned. California students can enter their coursework in the online application directly from their high school's UC-certified course list.

Grades 9, 10 and 11
All grades for all academic courses completed in grades 9, 10 and 11 must be reported. If a course is repeated, both the initial and repeated course and grades earned for both must be shown. Grades earned in the ninth grade will not be used in the GPA calculation for admission purposes.

... stuff deleted ...

Provisional Admission
Offers of admission are provisional until the campus receives the student's final official transcript and verifies successful completion of all coursework required for UC eligibility. Both the Subject Requirement and the Examination Requirement must be completed no later than the date of high school graduation. If any information in the application is found to be incomplete or inaccurate, or if a student's performance drops significantly during the senior year, the offer of admission may be revoked. Each campus provides newly admitted students with Conditions for Admission that must be satisfied prior to enrollment at the University.
