HUGE QUESTION ---> SAT WRITING !!!

Hey, I am applying to DUKE or Cornell ED this fall and I need some huge advice. Well, I got a 1480 on the old sat and I have about 4 SAT IIs above 750. MY weakpoint is my SAT II writing is a 640. Personally, I dont want to take the NEW SAT.

--I hear that some schools, i.e.-MIT, will not look at the writing section of the new SAT because 2/3 of the exam leans towards English writing and reading skills. However, in my case where I have a good SAT score but a not-so-good SAT II writing, do you think that they will ignore the SAT II writing for me just like hey will ignore the writing porition on the NEW Sat for most of the guys??

Particularly in Duke and Cornells case that is...

Grab a grammar book and get cracking. Writing is not hard to improve on..

Vehement, he's talking about SAT II writing, which is not offered anymore

Med_TMuds, I think you should take the new SAT just so you can get a better score on the writing section, as colleges who were interested in the old writing can look at that

I know, I suggest him to take the new test because his cr and math scores are so solid. All he needs is some work in his grammar department..

wont other good sat II scores make up for it.. partculary ---

Bio-780, phys- 790, math iic-800, match ic-760, and latin -720

remember, colleges get to see all of your sat scores
