HUGE scholarship problem...

I just got an email from LSU:

"Good Afternoon XXX,

You were selected to receive the XXX scholarship for the 2010-2011 academic year. Based on our records we have not received your thank you note. If this letter is not received in our office by Monday, June 7, 2010, your scholarship will be canceled."

I HAD NO IDEA YOU HAD TO WRITE A THANK YOU NOTE!!!!!!!! CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP/CONFIRM THIS!? DO I WRITE THE LETTER TO LSU'S SCHOLARSHIP OFFICE OR TO THE PERSON GIVING IT? I WAS JUST NOTIFIED, AND ONLY HAVE TWO DAYS (A WEEKEND; THIS IS CROOKED!)

Why not call LSU on Monday to find out where to email or fax a thank you letter? If your letter is in by close of business on Monday you should be fine.

May I ask what kind of scholarship this is in reference to - is it a university-sponsored scholarship like Golden Oaks, Tiger Scholars, etc.? The award notice should have specified that a thank you letter is required.

leslie gruber scholarship. I NEVER received the letter…

they require you to write a thank you note? that’s a little strange…

luckily everything’s been situated

I was told to write a thank you note for my department scholarship, which was no problem. Every time it is renewed, it tells me to write another one. Strange

Either they have an inferiority complex, or it’s some sort of a test…

It tends to be more for telling them how you’ve fared so far with the aid they’ve give you. Like telling them because such and such and such, I’ve been able to accomplish this and this and this… I had to do the same thing for a scholarship I won to attend a private school.

Anyway, glad the original posters problem turned out alright. Would suck to lose a scholarship over something that small.
