So I previously went on the Common App and went to the offsite Middlebury App, and it was a file with an additional essay question and asked you to send it a graded essay.

I just went on it today, and it's a link to a Middlebury form with completely different questions.

My daughter is also applying to Middlebury. I checked to see if there's anything different on the common app. or Midd. website from what we've previously seen.

Even though both sites look the same to me, the process is a bit confusing. Here's a link to the portion of Midd's. website with their Requirements, Fees & Deadlines. This includes the prompts, etc.

You probably know this, but the process in general:

1) Fill out the pre-app. along with payment of fee waiver request by Dec. 15. This must be done on Middlebury's website.

2) Submit the common app. by Jan. 1. This, of course, includes the standard common app. essay prompt choices.

3) By Jan. 1 you must also answer one of the two prompts found on the Midd. website (link above) and a recent graded essay from school (not research paper). These two things must be either faxed or sent by snail mail. The cannot be submitted online.

We already submitted the pre-app. As for the rest (just for simplicity) we are submitting everything by snail mail in one packet.

I don't know if this answers your question really, but hope it helps in some way.

If you have any questions, I'd recommend calling the admissions office 802-443-3000.

All supplementary materials including the graded essay and the Pre Application Supplement essay must be mailed, faxed or e-mailed by November 15 for Early Decision 1 and by January 1 for Regular Decision or Early Decision 2. Note that supplementary materials are NOT uploaded through the Common App or the Middlebury Pre-Application websites.
