I was recently accepted as a transfer into the HOD major. Can anyone tell me what the major is like?
What are some projects that have been assigned in classes, what is the workload like, what is the theory/hands-on learning balance, etc

I not a HOD major, so I’ve never experienced the actual workload, but the major is literally a meme on the Vanderbilt campus for how easy it is.
My friends are HOD majors, and they say it’s very easy. Most double major with Econ or something else anyway.
The workload is basically nothing. If you want a rigorous academic experience, you should do what most HOD majors seem to do and add a second major in econ or public policy or english or something else that interests you. People do look down on HOD majors, but even though it is the easiest major on campus and laughable compared to say an engineering or music major workload, even the most incompetent HOD majors I’ve met seem to leave campus with a sweet job lined up, so you’re basically set if you put in just a hair of effort.
