Is the Neuroscience major a strong one at UVA? The classes aren't like real structered or anything. Like there's no Neuroscience 101 or anything. So is the major a good one. I also like Human Biology so if anyone with either majors could help me that would be good. Thanks.

Neuroscience isn't a traditional academic discipline, which is why there isn't a specific track of courses in it. It's an interdisciplinary major, which means it's composed of a number of different disciplines. The major, from what I hear, is fairly strong. Before going headfirst into such a program, though, I'd advise that you do a little more research into what exactly neuroscience is and what the major involves. Majoring in something because it sounds cool is never a good idea. Here's a description of the major:

The biology department is also strong, but it's full of premeds.

Also do all science majors require humanities or social science classes? Thanks. Also thanks cavalier. Anyone with more info post please? Thanks

Yes, all majors in the college require completion of area requirements. Whether you do those at UVA or exempt yourself through APs or SAT2s is up to you.

Ya.. cavalier said it. The only way around this is echols scholar status...
