Well your academic stats (GPA / SAT) are better than my D’s were & she was accepted ED in Human Ec. However her showed more leadership & excellence in her EC’s. Her letters of rec. & essays were also very strong. As long as your letters of rec. & essays (this shouldn’t be a problem with your obvious strenght in this area), you should have an above average chance of admission.

ahh thanks for your post. and i just noticed that i totally made an error in my copy and paste. my preferred major would be human development. cornell is actually one of the few non-liberal arts school i’m applying to just because of that major. and i read that the college of ecology is basically liberal arts anyways sooo this school’s sorta a big deal to me, it’s pretty damn close to perfect =]

the only thing is that my gpa isn’t too great considering my slightly screwed up junior year…but i’m hoping that a fantastic first quarter senior year may vaugely mitigate that?
hopefully.

posting on these forums makes me feel weird. hah.

Well, you’re grades and scores are great and it looks like your ECs are directed toward writing. I assume you’re interested in the PAM major(??) For HumEc you need to spell out your connection to the philosophy of the school. Dig into the website find something (research opportunities, DC semester, whatever) that you think will click for you and tell them how you want to be a part of it and, in turn, what YOU can bring to the program.

‘and woody, do you really think so?’
Well, a 3.75 UW with a difficult course load? 2310? Yes, sounds great to me but HumEc wants to her about your interest in them…that’s where you can make it or break it.
csdad, didn’t I tell you the same thing last year??
PS They have specific info sessions for specific majors - at least they did 2 years ago. D was the only student at her session. The adcom person remembered her at admitted student days and orientation.
