Human Ecology Transfer Option

Hello you all! I noticed the thread for the CALS TO and I wanted to start a seperate one for HE because I think there might be some differences. Did anyone else get this? I'm honestly really grateful for anything at all from Cornell; I had a very low GPA and thought I was a guaranteed rejection. I definately intend to use the option, probably from my local state university.

I got my letter from Cornell (the letter referenced in the original message posted on Ivy Day) and it contained some ambiguous wording, namely this section:
"Although this offer is applicable after two years of college coursework, students who have successfully completed all the required courses have applied and been competitive for admission after one year."

I'm confused as to whether this means that the transfer option is only for those who apply after two years (and that people who apply after only one have the option to apply as normal transfers) or that the transfer option can be used after one year with the same guarantee as after the second year, provided satisfactory grades. Could someone shed some light on this for me please?

i got a similar letter today via snail mail and it said i could apply after one year if i took all the necessary courses and maintained a 3.3 GPA. how much of a “guaranteed” transfer do you think it is? my letter only says that we’ll receive “special priority and preference”.

From what I’ve seen in other posts in the past I think it probably is a pretty solid guarantee if you meet the requirements…not sure though. Did your letter contain the same language as mine concering the number of years?
