Human Rights Program

Hi,

I have a couple of questions about the Human Rights Program. Just in case anyone on CC can answer these, I’d greatly appreciate it:

What is the difference between the Columbia and Barnard human rights departments?

What is the usual class size for the ‘core’ classes and about how many are offered every year?

Are you generally satisfied with the HR program?

How active is the department within the college, i.e. does it offer lectures and film showings? Does it work with student groups such as Amnesty International?

How many other people do you think are pursuing an HR major?

Why were you interested in studying HR, and was that your reason for attending Barnard?

How does the combined major with HR work? Are you required to submit two separate theses for each major, is the workload manageable, etc.

If you know anyone who has experience with the program who I can get in touch with, please let me know! Thanks.
