I know when you enroll in a Lecture you also have to simultaneously enroll in a discussion.

But for Humanities 1A it has: Humanities Core Lec and Humanities Core WRT both of which appear to be four units each (unless i'm reading this wrong)

So to have it count as you having taken Hum 1A, do you need to take both, or just one? (also trying to simultaneously fulfill the writing requirement)

I think you have to take both, on WebSoc if you search for Humanities 1A under the comments it says

NOTE: Enrollment in lecture and discussion, lecture and studio, lecture and lab, lecture and studio and discussion, etc. is required for all courses offered by the School of Humanities, as well as any courses cross-listed with a Humanities offering.

You take the lecture, discussion, and the forum. The lecture and discussion are 4 units each, so all in all Humanities is worth 8 units per quarter. You cannot just take one. WebReg will drop you from the one you enroll in if you don't enroll in all three.

So does Humanities 1A, 1B, 1C each have the workload of two classes? Would it be wise to take it along with three other classes or should I cut down?

It's not really 2 classes worth of work but I'd say more than 1 class. Maybe it should be worth 6 units or something. Anyway, this quarter I'm taking humcore and 3 other classes and it's not really a problem, but especially for your first quarter I'd keep it at 16 units. Maybe humcore and 2 others. They'll even tell you in advising to only go with 12 units your first quarter, but I think a lot of people can handle 16. Depends on how well you adjust mostly and how much you do your work and don't slack off.

is there a prerequisite for this class?
