Humanities competition?

Are there any humanities contests (writing contests and others)? I feel that my current resume is making me look like a science-oriented person even though I will not go into pure science. Or does it really matter? Could I declare my interest in literature with a resume that only shows awards in science/business (I personally feel it is kind of absurd but it seems to be my situation)? I am doing newspaper and I will probably do a reading list. Can SAT scores justify my interest?

I think that it just naturally happens because math/science events are more frequent (and easier to hold probably), I don’t think our school has any sort of literature type things so it shouldn’t really matter. And many schools give you until the end of sophomore year to decide a major, so worst case scenario you can go in with science and change to literature later.

^I absolutely agree! It’s quite ironic how the CEOs of the companies are usually majors in humanities/arts etc.

lol this is amusing…I agree with BorN about how math/sci competitions are way more frequent…half my ECs right now are in that area, and I’m not even that much of a math/science person lol…

But isn’t there a Scholastic contest for the humanities? I’ve heard about it on here before.

It has closed already… I should have posted this thread a little earlier.

anybody?
10 char

Humanities competitions just don’t happen as often. It’s far more difficult to quantify the humanities than it is to quantify the sciences and math. On the other hand, social science has something huge going for it: debate.

I am not really into debate, besides it would seem like a resume-piling tactic considering I am a junior already. Any other suggestions? Or the awards are not that important?

scholastic is the big one but the deadline for that has already passed. : /
the davidson fellowship? idk the deadlines for that though

But I am not eligible…
