I have spop 1 and i'm debating if i should take humcore since i am a bio major.
I have heard a lot of people said it is a lot of work, GPA killer and not worth it.
however you get to knock out a lot of GE requirements.

Basically my schedule for the whole year would look like this

fall:
bio 93
chem 1a
hum 1a

winter
bio94
chem1b
hum1a

spring:
math2a
chem1c, chem1l
hum1c

would this be stressful for me? I want to be involved in clubs and a sorority freshmen year and do a work study if i can.

I was in your shoes many years ago at UCI–a bio major debating whether to take Humanities core. Those ended up being my favorite classes! I got A’s all three quarters. Wish I could say the same for my science classes :-/ I also worked on campus. I know it’s a lot to juggle.
Do you like to read good books and write about them? Do you want to broaden your horizons beyond the sometimes myopic life of a bio major at UCI? If so, take Humanities Core. Best of luck to you–Zot!
