Hume a good experience?

Could somebody comment on their experience living in Hume, the honors dorm? D is hoping to get into UP honors next year. She's already a National Merit Semi-Finalist and has the SAT scores and good QPA, but she's also interested in the on-campus living experience for the honors program. Thanks so much :)

I do not live there, but I visit often and I have a friend a year above me that is in his second year there (and his roommate has been there for three years now).

Personally the ONLY negative I have seen about it is the distance from campus proper. And by that I mean the buildings from the Reitz to 13th and from Museum Road to University.

Aside from that I have observed that it is quite a social dorm (if you so choose to make it).

PS: A bike there is a MUST have.

However, Hume does cost a thousand dollars more than the next most expensive dorm.

Actually the average is about in the 2200-2300 range, but when compared to other (older dorms) it makes sense to see why hume costs a little more.

I enjoyed my experience. Don’t expect a palace though. The people were pretty interesting too. I made some life-long friends.
