Is Hume Hall large enough to house all of the members in the honors program? I applied for housing way late (this weekend) and I'm certain I'll have to live off-campus. However, I was "invited" to the honors program and possibly there would be room in Hume?

Don't know about size now, but when I was there, Hume was great, because it's right at the end of frat row, so you could walk up and down to all the parties, and the stadium is a 10 min walk max (uphill though).

from what I hear, Hume is full of loners....
apart from the summer semesters, it's not very social.

Call Hume desk and ask. Ask for the senior clerk (Jody Rogers). She will know the exact numbers about that stuff. Don't call during lunch time (12/1) and after 4/5pm. You will get a desk assistant, who may or may not know.

Disagree. You can get that in any dorm. I have seen both. If you are worried about that, maybe try Simpson/Trusler across the street.

okay. you're right to a certain extent, but i think we can all admit that Hume isn't the most social of freshman dorms...

There's a reason Hume residents are given the name "Humeies," fair or not.

^are you serious? crap. i put down humes as my first choice. this is my first time coming on the UF board-guess i should have checked it earlier.

Don't worry. I put down Hume as my first choice...for summer. But for fall, I plan on staying at Beaty. I hear Hume is actually really fun during the summer and out of the available options, it was the best one. Regardless, you're still going to meet a TON of new people. It's all about putting yourself out there. Everyone is so friendly at UF...it's hard not to make friends.

It's the students that make the dorm. If there are a lot of fun, social students living on your floor, then it will be fun. Not every student in Hume is obsessed with videogames and stuff like that (even if many are).
