Humor Essay?

Prompt: "Caltech students have long been known for their quirky sense of humor and creative pranks. Please describe an unusual way in which you have fun. (100 words max)"

Are we limited to humor, jokes, or pranks? Or can we write about an unusual way we have fun that's not necessarily a prank or a joke?

The question is “Please describe an unusual way in which you have fun?”. You should answer that question. The beginning part is just context for the question. Write whatever you want as long as it fits the question quoted.

Exactly what PSAT321 said. Don’t overthink the question–just describe whatever quirky activity makes you happiest.

Allow me to play devil’s advocate here. I don’t think my humor essay answered the question except for the last sentence. That said, it was a logical response to the question. It just wasn’t focused on answering the question.

I think you make the point to answer any essay prompt the way you want to. That’s all any school is looking for/at… is your answer.
