Hun School Of Princeton

Hi,
I applying to the Hun School Of Princeton.
For alumni and current students what were your SSAT scores.
I checked every possible site and still no info.

My friend actually attends there and she got in with a 55%-tile on the SSAT. My other friend got in with a 45%-tile. I hope this helped!

Hun has very lax standards on SSAT. Some kids score very high, and others low. If you are a good fit for the school don’t worry about a certain target.

Younger daughter applied and was admitted a few years ago, with scores in the mid 80 range. I liked a lot of things about that school, but she did not matriculate there.

Thanks

ajsimles were your friends day or board

Also for seven dads did your daughter switch to a different school and like it better. If possible tell me the name of that school and i might research it thanks

To clarify, she never attended Hun. But she was accepted/admitted. I’ll send you PM with more info.

In the meantime, this thread might be worth reading:

It’s a blow by blow of my older girl’s search and application process, and contains a good list of schools to start your “search and apply” process from…among other things.

my friends both applied as day students

Thank you

anybody else have any insight

Well what specific questions do you have? I know a lot about the school I can try to help

Also happy to answer any questions…

@ajsmiles12 like any experience or information about admission

I have some indirect personal experience with Hun as a family member attended some time ago. I think it is a better school than its reputation. Like many schools that are not in the top 10 or 15 Boarding Schools they suffer a bit by being quasi day schools. Like Tabor Academy in Massachusetts or Moses Brown in RI or St Georges. They really draw locally and not nationally. So they have some really excellent students that want to stay local and their boarding students are probably less competitive.

@Center Thanks, but “So they have some really excellent students that want to stay local and their boarding students are probably less competitive.” does this mean applying as a boarder increases or decreases your chances.

Increases. They want more boarders.

thanks @center because im looking to board
would a 70& ssat be good for Hun

I believe it is fine and is for many schools. Remember there are schools with 50% SSAT scores. Look on Boarding school review. Admission to all schools is multi factorial. Very few kids have a perfect GPA or perfect SSATs and have started a non profit…,LOL. Whatever your weaknesses are try to balance them with all qualities. Show effort to improve deficits if necessary.

@Center sorry to bother you again but how is the Financial Aid at Hun
