I don’t know if it’s the last <100 students, but D showed me a Tic Toc of about 96 students in a large open conference room that’s making the rounds tonight. Wow, that’s bad. Zero privacy. Looks like office cubicles. Worse than Office Space, at least they had tall cubicles.

Yes, 96 was the final number. Based on past experiences, no-shows and drops will have the number dwindling fairly quickly.
Certainly not ideal, but better than “Hundreds of incoming students” being faced with “sorry, we have no space, good luck” , “300 with no backup plan”, “500 students four miles from campus”, and the other situations mentioned.
Yes, there are various levels of being screwed, but screwed is screwed. 
Just read that the town of Goleta is suing UCSB for the housing shortage.
