Hunter Housing-Housing?

My D has applied to Hunter and if accepted, it doesn't look like she will get into the Brookdale Residence Hall...we were told priority goes to applicants who already live in the city. Can anyone suggest any viable (which translates to reasonable $$) housing alternatives?

Hunter housing in general is SUPER limited and it’s not because priority goes to those who live in the city, because those in the city usually don’t dorm. Priority goes to those who attened Colombia ( or NYU I don’t remeber which of the 2) Bottom line is that this housing is shared and Hunter only has about 500 rooms which they are allowed to use and sometimes 3 people get stuck in a room. Here is the website to the school, they mention alternative housing, if she is applying to Hunter may I recommened applying to City college, the dorms are not dorms, they are actually apartments in their own building that belongs to the college.

[ALTERNATIVE HOUSING — Hunter College](http://www.hunter.cuny.edu/studentservices/reslife/alternativehousing)

Are you saying that Brookdale is not exclusively for Hunter-students from other colleges All dorm together?

Im not perfectly sure how to use this website but im an international student with a 2100 sat score and straight A’s. Will I get accepted into Hunter?

Yes, brookdale is not exclusively Hunter student housing it is shared with either Colombia OR NYU not both I am just not sure which one
