Hunter vs Brooklyn College?? Can't decide

So I have recently narrowed down my college decision to Hunter and Brooklyn College. I am planning on majoring in Political Science and either minoring in Environmental Studies or Journalism. I have visited both schools, and really liked both. Campus-wise, I loved Brooklyn WAY more, it’s insanely gorgeous and in no way feels like I’m in New York City. However, academically speaking, I hear Hunter does extremely well. What is mainly holding me back from Brooklyn is the commute. I won’t be dorming, and my commute would be close to 2 hours (I would have to wake up 3 hours earlier than the time my class starts). However, with Hunter, my commute would likely be a little under an hour. I also much prefer the area Hunter resides in, as I feel there is more to do as opposed to the seclusion of Brooklyn College in a not-so-entertaining part of Brooklyn. Along with this, I would really like to make a solid group of friends, which I know would be difficult in schools known to draw commuters. I understand that I would have to join clubs and make a strong effort. So, club-wise, how do these schools do? Academically speaking, how do they differ? Which is the better option? Please help!

The commute will be a major drag on you in short order. They are both great schools, not that different from one another. Go to Hunter.
