How hard is the Huntsman program in terms of admissions compared to the college? Also, is Wharton significantly harder than the college of arts and sciences?

I don't know the exact numbers, but the Huntsman program is the most prestigious program at Penn and certainly the hardest one to get into.

idk if its the most prestigious, but all the joint-degree programs are hard to get into. I think the numbers are 50 out of 500-600 applicants.

It certainly has the lowest acceptance rate.

Isn't Jerome Fisher the same? And I would think this program is harder: Wharton and engineering, you gotta be one tough cookie to stomach that.

I think the courseload is more difficult for M&T, but Huntsman has more applicants for less spots.

Honestly, it's useless to compare the programs. M&T is M&T and Huntsman is Huntsman. Both are joint degree programs and both specialize in different areas. Different people apply to different programs, and that's that. We have different requirements and different goals...it's useless to compare which is more prestigious or more rigorous.

M&T gets more prestige on campus, but I think Huntsman getsmore applicants just the same. Nobody wants to be an engineer, and I don't blame them :)

relating to the OP, Huntsman is significantly harder than the college. admit rate was in the teens a few years back, and the programs popularity has skyrocketed since then
