The Huntsman courseload is a lot to handle as it is, but with the special accomodations allowing for single courses to fill multiple requirements, Ive heard of people picking up an extra major at CAS, double-concentrating at Wharton, taking classes for up to 3 languages, and still managing to have free time to play a varsity sport or edit the Daily Pennsylvanian. Obviously that's the exception, not the rule, but I think it's just a matter of knowing your capacity, the limits of that capacity, and organizing you time accordingly to optimize your productivity while STAYING SANE and ENJOYING your time in college. I feel like some people who apply into Huntsman ED do so rather blindly and don't take into consideration whether or not they will have a FUN time in college in addition to getting the best education in the world for its field, which is what the Huntsman Program represents for me. Again, maybe that's the exception, not the rule.

Well put, rising9th. d("

Does Huntsman prefer applicants who actually apply their multilingual abilities? Also, is it beneficial to know languages other than your target (e.g. 3 or 4 languages), or are all multilingual applicants considered at the same level?

My target language will be Hindi I guess but I can only speak it marginally and absolutely can not read or write the langauge at all. I guess I can try though since I'm really in love with the Huntsman program.:)

they have hindi too?! AwEsOmE

There is no quota system; however, I can understand how this may seem an adequate explanation of deferral or rejection.

Huntsman students are usually the students who are willing to take on a heavier courseload as well as balance several extra-curriculars. You can double or triple concentrate, do additional majors in the college: nothing's impossible, but it's up to you to make things work.

I targeted Spanish... but since Im a native spanish speaker.. I told them I was willing to target french also, in which I am profficient. The Huntsman director told me it was fine.
