Huntsman Difficulty

I was wondering? Do all huntsman applicants have stellar SAT scores? My SAT score are pretty low but I think I have the grades and extra-curriculars. Do you think my SAT will hurt me. Info below.

First Generation/Latino(URM)
SAT I- CR- 530 M-690 W-500 (YES, I plan to retake my SAT I in oct. maybe nov. if I can rush)
ACT-25 composite (Reading and English Kill Me and its to fast.)
SAT II- CHEM- 640 MATH 2- 710 Spanish
AP Classes- Ap Spanish Language(3), Ap Spanish Literature (3), Ap Chem (3), Ap Stats (4), Ap Cal AB(5)
Senior Aps- Bio, Music Theory, Physics B, Cal BC, Ap Gov
Weighted GPA- 4.3
Unweighted-3.7

Extra-Curriculars

Acapella group- Section Leader(tenor)
Shows/honor choirs... etc ... Very into Music and loads of musical awards.

Internships- Coldwell Banker and Marriott International Financial Corporation
Jobs- Coldwell Banker and VegasInsider.com (Assistant Advertising and Management Manager) Not kinding, Very lucky job.

This is just a sparknotes of my application. Great essays and recommendations. 7 honor societies. Do I have a chance at Huntsman if not CAS? I know my SAT I are low but hopefully in June I will get a 1900 or 2000.

If I don't stand a chance for either want improvements do you suggest?

It’s too late to expand your ECs, which I think could be a little more diverse; however, they’ll work.

Your real problem, as you know, is your standardized test scores. Do everything you can to get 2000+. You have two great hooks in URM and first-generation college student, though.

With that said, Huntsman is out of your reach, even if you get your SAT up to 2000. The College, on the other hand, is possible. Do all you can to improve your SAT/ACT scores!

Best of luck!

Thanks for the advice. The extra-curriculars that I mentioned are just a little. I done much more like Future Business Leaders of America, Thespians, Chamber Choir, and more. I am actually very active in school. I am working on my SAT I. I am just curious what changes would I need to get into Huntsman. Thanks again for the advise!

you seem exactly like me, applying to the huntsman, latino, the works!

anyway, what’d you get on the spanish sat 2?

i hope we both get in! :D

Dido it would be so cool to get into Upenn and if I got into Huntsman that would be AMAZING!!! I didn’t do so hot on Spanish: 730. W/e. If I get into Huntsman I think I am going to change my target language from Spanish to Portuguese. But I really hope I can just get into CAS at least. Thanks for the advice.

I was just wondering if anyone else had suggestions.

stats and ECs are well below average but you’re a URM so who knows…

Make sure to retake the SATs. I think they will give you a little bit of slack because you’re first generation and seem to be economically disadvantaged. But you would nonetheless be better off if you retook the test and did better. Besides those standardized tests you seem to be above average candidates.

Also, the word for same is spelled ditto, not dido.

Sorry about the “ditto”, I was just typing really fast. Thanks though for the comments. I think I will get above a 2000.

Any more opinions?
