I’m thinking of applying ED to the Huntsman program, but I have a few questions beforehand.
- If I am rejected early from Huntsman, would I still be considered ED for CAS/Wharton?
- My target language would be Spanish because I've studied it for five years, but will it look bad that I got a four on the AP test?
- I have lots of good political science ECs, but I don't have any business related ones. Would that make me a better candidate for CAS than Wharton?
- I know it's hard to get into Huntsman, does anyone know how hard exactly?
@f2000sa Thanks for the response. Do you have any suggestions for which Subject Tests I should take in October to ready myself for Penn ED, specifically for Huntsman first? I have already taken US History (800), World History (690), Chemistry (690), and Math II (<700). Should I retake Math II, and take Spanish?
Math II may be good idea. Wharton likes strong math. For huntsman, not much room for any weakness.
@f2000sa Assuming CAS would be my second choice after Huntsman, would Math II still be as necessary?
Retake math if you’re gonna try Wharton as 2nd choice. And scoring well on Spanish would increase your chances for Huntsman a lot, but scoring well as a non-native speaker is no easy task
@LAD2266 Your first choice is Huntsman. You should do your best to get in.
- Yes. HOWEVER, if Huntsman chooses to defer you, your application for Wharton/CAS won't be considered till RD!! This is exactly what happened to me (M&T in my case)
- No
- Yes
- Very hard
Retake the Math 2 for sure
@ShaunakK98 Thank you. Do you recommend I retake Math II even if I apply to CAS as my backup?
Yes. As Wharton is a part of the Huntsman program they definitely would be wanting to see a strong Math 2
You need math2 and Spanish subject scores as close to 800 as you can.
