I'm applying ED to Penn, and I'm considering applying to the Huntsman program. Will a rejection from Huntsman become a disadvantage for Wharton consideration (ED)?

i thought it was the other way around: you have to be "accepted" into wharton in order to be considered for the Huntsman program

No. Rejection from Huntsman means the application is just sent back for separate evaluation by Wharton admissions; in fact, if the Huntsman program believes a student is particularly strong but perhaps not enough for their limited pool, they'll even push for that student to get admitted to Wharton. But it won't hurt you in the other direction.

Will I still be in consideration for Wharton ED if I get rejected from Huntsman ED?

That's up to you. If you put your signature down to consider you ED for Wharton, they'll do it. Otherwise, they'll just reconsider your Huntsman app in the regular pool
