Huntsman Thread!

lol i meant the show "drawn together"

seth if you dont mind what school do you go to in How county? (i live in elkridge and am applyig to huntsman rd)

I go to Centennial. Do you go to Howard?

nope Long Reach

So I haven't registered on CC until now, because frankly I was scared of all you people, though I have been reading the posts... Then I ran into Leo (Dostoyevsky) at Harvard MUN after hearing from Huntsman, so what the hell. Here goes! Nice to meet y'all.

*Zach Fuchs
*French
*Highland Park, IL (suburb of Chicago)
*Let's see... MUN, web design, girlfriend, sleep, etc. I'm actually a more interesting person than it sounds, I promise.
*In terms of music, I'm into electronica. Favorite book is Catch-22, and favorite movie is Pulp Fiction. I'm a huge Family Guy fan as well.
*Now that apps are done, I can actually GET SOME SLEEP.
*First thing I plan to do upon arriving at penn: MEET YOU ALL. wow.

-Z

yo zach....ncie to see ya on here....nice last name too lol....ill put some stuff up for my info soon, im just lazy (and busy) right now

hey zach. welcome to the club. you can aim me at scowboy12 if you want to chat.
-brian

alita,
if you have any questions, ask me. I would gladly meet you somewhere to discuss it.

rhys1118 (Han) - what Tucson HS do you go to? I know a ton of kids at different schools....

I'm considering applying to Huntsman myself.. but a quick question for those of you who have undoubtedly studied the school far more than I:
Why are Huntsman-graduates starting salaries the lowest of the bunch? I would have suspected the opposite?

Hm.... with all of these early-acceptances, I'm wondering if I should apply. Think there's any room left for another AZ kid? :)

Raven! You're from AZ too (me too!)! Whoa! Well, I dunno, honestly, they've already accepted TWO this year from AZ from the ED pool, and even though they say they don't have "quotas" and stuff, I see it very difficult in the RD pool that they take another one..that would like be an all time record! But, apply! Huntsman rock! And you never know. :)

I think the salray disparity might be because people who are more into international studies may go into politics or work for the government, both of which pay very little

Catalina Foothills, baby. Cannot wait to get out of Tucson.
And as for your apps, go for it. This is so cheesy, but "if you apply, you'll have some chance, but if you don't, then you have no chance."
As for the report (it's a great report, however did you find it?), the salary discrepancies is probably because only 15 people responded to the Huntsman survey: Wharton certainly shouldn't hurt your prospects for a job. Maybe the respondants were from the lower achieving part of the group.

Cereality sounds like great fun! I think I went to a place like that at ASU a while back. lovessugar

one of the other reasons why huntsman starting salaries are low may be becuz a lot of them may decide to work abroad...u know, considering they're proficient in a foreign lang....so due to exchange rate differences or sumthin, the american equivalent avg salary may be lower, when in reality, in terms of purchasing power parity they mite be making big bucks....it kinda makes sense...buts its jus a theory...of curz, id like it to be true!!

but i must admit - the low starting salary for huntsman was pretty disheartening!!

On a side note, anyone willing to help someone who is applying rd? Iwould love it if somebody could read my essays (after all no comp from you guys youre already in:-) ) . If you can let me know...ill put my email up there...thanks
(Im applying to french but ill probably switch to arabic after I'm there or before if my lang gets better verrrrrrry quickly, lol)

eh... at the risk of sounding like an ass, i'm more concerned w/ frat parties and bars rather than karaoke night

lol...not a big deal...but I think all of huntsman (or at least all of the freshmen) were at the karaoke thing. thats why i mentioned it...

Personally, i think id rather be safely away from my profs at a frat party...

Setman87- Yeah, that would be good, i just have to wait till break at least... im going on no sleep right now and I still have a list of 20 things to getdone before christmas in front of me. Its ridiculous..my last christmas at home and Im spending it working 40 hr weeks and writing papers..

yeah that's why i'm glad i applied early. no more work for me...

that's what im talkin 'bout, king! i just finished my last final today and now two and a half weeks of some R&R
