Hurricane Irene

Aww! Happy birthday lynnie! That must suckk!! ):

Thanks!! And yes it does. Irene ruined all of my plans!! Lol

Now that is what I call a strange coincidence. Anyway, happy birthday Lynnie! I hope everyone is ok and safe. It didn’t get too strong where we were, except a few branches fell off our tree.

I was sooo scared last night! There wad a tornado warning, a flood warning, and crazy heavy rain. My power is out too :(

Happy birthday Lynnie!!! Everything turned out great for me during the hurricane. My whole family is safe, my house is intact, and we are lucky enough to be one of the few people in my area to have electricity.

I’m not sure if our electricity went out. We got some water in our basement so we had to sleep on the first floor regardless.

Thanks everyone! You guys are so nice! I recieved the best gift today… surviving!! Lol. But i must say, it wasn’t as bad as I expected it to be! My power didn’t go out, and there were no branches in my yard! It actually turned into a tropical storm by the time it hit me! I hope everyone is okay, and no great damage was done!

@lynnie: virtual birthday cookie! {::}

Haha yum! Lool

Did the hurricane already stop?

For me it did. The whole thing ended up being sort of inticlimactic, at least in my area!

Whenever I think hurricane I think scared people in a basement while the hurricane destroys the town…

I live in houston and Ike came a few years ago…the entire city lost power and a lot of the traffic lights were broken…you guys are lucky XD

Yeah it’s pretty much over now! It’s still a little windy, but the sun is trying to come out! It was a really small hurricane, or really large tropical storm.

Here is a virtual cake from me [‘’‘’]. I like how your birthday present was survival. Honestly though their was too much panic. People paniced because others wer panicing, and so on and so forth. At least the number of reported deaths was minimal wipes sweat off brow

Wow, it was just rain and wind…

Why thank you LeoBro it looks delicious lol. Also, the weather people were overly exaggerating, and making it sound like we are all going to die. I was only scared when it first started, but then i realized that it’s not all that bad, so i went to sleep lol.

Did anyone on CC die? How many deaths were there?

No i don’t think any one on CC died, but so far, 11 people have died, and some of them were children. Some people also have serious injuries as well.

I’ve heard the death toll is up to 18.

I find it kind of funny that everyone was freaking out about Irene. Living in the coastal southeast (not Florida), hurricanes have just been a part of life. We have evacuation routes in place and have hurricane drills at school, but other than that, we don’t really think about it. I have to admit that I laughed a little when my cousin in New Jersey was flipping out about Irene hitting. Then I remembered that we Southerners do the same exact thing when there’s the slightest possibility of the chance that we’ll get snow.

The earthquake was also quite an event, though it didn’t cause a lot of damage. There’s just been some crazy stuff happening lately.

But, thankfully, (at least as far as I know) no CCers or their families were hurt. My prayers go out to the families of the victims.
