First, praying for all of those effected by recent tragic weather events. Houston is sill reeling from Harvey while Florida is bracing for Irma and Jose. For those of you whose students just left for college or who have yet to go, I want to assure you that most schools are very good about communicating with students and parents about what to do in emergency situations. I know many schools have evacuated in advance of Irma. Coastal Carolina, University of Miami, Florida State and many other schools have all evacuated their students in plenty of time for them to get to a safer location in advance of Irma. When our D attended OCU, the music school which houses the MT program is a tornado shelter. Blue Alerts were sent via text to advise students and parents about watches and warnings. It is scary to see a major event develop when your child is away from home. I just want to assure you that schools are prepared and will communicate to keep your students safe. Make sure you sign up for their alert system (both you and your student) so you stay in the loop on campus.
Exactly @vvnstar . We have friends and family affected by Irma and Harvey. Some from CC here. It is tragic . Still praying for everyone. Prayers of hope and strength continue.
