Huskies or Bears?

I am having a hard time making my college decision...
I got accepted to both UW and UC Berkeley.
Since I had spring break last week, I visited both schools.
I thought that the campuses were similar, with a lot of trees.
I know that both schools have good science programs. (I'm thinking about majoring in Neuroscience)
I love both schools!
Any suggestions??

I love UW, but if I had a choice between Cal or UW, I would pick Cal...

how competitive are pre-med courses? at every single meeting that i attended to at Cal, they ALWAYS stressed the competitiveness...

Are you in-state or OOS?

I live in WA.

Both schools are very good, Berkeley might be a little bit more presitgious but on the other hand if you to UW will prob be paying half the price and still receive an excellent education. You're in a win-win situation and I guess it comes to what matters most to you: going to a slightly more prestigious university in cal or going to uw and saving a ton of money that could be used towards other things ie grad school.

My D is headed to UW tonight for a last look. We are Californians--so have similar (though financially opposite) quandry. We've had 2 go thru UW and loved every minute of it. I believe the campuses are somewhat similar--the student culture and city cultures are quite different however. Where do you feel most comfortable?
I can honestly say that I do not prescribe to the "prestige" reasoning. I have seen both of mine excel in school because they were happy and well adjusted. Both graduated with multiple great job offers. Where will you be happiest, all things considered? That is what counts.
Good luck.

How does the culture at Cal compare to UW?
