Hutton Honors College Scholarship Amounts?

I’ve understand the average Hutton Honors College Scholarship runs about $2-3k (https://scholarships.indiana.edu/scholarships/selective/). I’ve also read that the scholarships can range from $1-8k (Inside Honors by John Willingham). Any specific amounts to share?

My son received $6000 per year HHCS. He found out about 2 weeks ago.

@DadofThree111 OOS can be up to $8000 for the Hutton Awards. That is on my child’s portal plus an A&S award (small) and the original Dean’s award from Early Action. So OOS at least can be up to 8. All in all, IU offered my child pretty good merit, but it came in bits and pieces after we had begun losing interest.
The trouble is that child was a finalist for the Wells and loved IU but wasn’t offered the Wells and very crucially wasn’t offered the STARS research position or even an interview, so we can’t justify the OOS costs for IU even with all the scholarships and a grant since we don’t even know child could go right into research. Not sure how they decide the amounts for the Hutton scholarships or if it matters what School you are in. Also, it has a different name, but when I googled it, turned out it was from HHC. Hope that gives you an idea of the merit aid for OOS. In state might differ and probably does.

Just wondering if anyone would mind telling me the stats of someone who received a Hutton scholarship? My son was a direct admit to Kelly and offered Hutton honors college. However he was not given a scholarship. He is ranked #1 in his class of 460. Took AP/honors/ dual credit. He scored a 33 on the ACT. Disappointed he is t getting anything but the standard merit scholarship. Thanks for any info.

Your son has the stats, but award is based on SSA.

Thank you I realize what it meant after I asked. Your daughters stats are great! Is she an in state or OOS student?
I a sure she has her choice of colleges.

Thanks, @winjld. We are OOS and IU is one of her top three choices (along with USC and U of Toronto). Still waiting to hear from a couple of schools, but I don’t think this list will change. Congrats to your son on the direct admission to Kelly! Ihope all works out for you both.

Recieved $8K Provost award and $8K HHC in 3 sperarate awards which included the Herbert Presidential Scholar award.
