Hey everyone. I haven't seen a thread mentioning this yet, so I just thought I'd let everyone know that Hutton has sent out its scholarship notifications. I got a letter stating I've been offered the Della J. Evans Scholarship ($3000/year). So if you've been accepted to the honors college, you can probably expect your letters pretty soon.

That's great, congratulations! Do you mind if I ask what your stats are?

GPA: 3.85 unweighted / 4.02 weighted
SAT: 2240 -- 740 CR, 700 M, 800 W

I'll go into college with around 25 credit hours, so I've taken a fairly rigorous course of study, though I don't know if Hutton paid attention to that or if they just looked at the SAT and GPA.

I have to say, IU is making my life a little difficult. I've always wanted to go out of state (Bloomington is 45 minutes away), but $12000 per year out of $17000 total awfully good.

Thanks for posting orual. Did you get the letter yesterday?

FYI--DD is having the same conflict with the proximity of IU (we live in Monroe County). If you're considering graduate school, think of your years at IU as saving money for that. At 45 minutes away it will be a different world than home.

Yes, I got my letter Saturday.

I'm almost certain that I will go to either grad school or med school, so I'm doing my best to keep the benefits of low tuition in mind. It gets a little hard when your parents say things like, "Oh, we could ride our bikes down here some weekends."

D received a letter today with an offer for an Honors Scholarship. Her weighted GPA is higher than Orual's, unweighted is almost identical and SAT's lower. (The stats belong to her so I don't feel free to specify)

I'm wondering if her recent Honors overnight tipped the scale in her favor?

I sent in my SSA in November and got into Hutton a while ago with them saying they would let me know about Hutton scholarships within the coming weeks. It seems that most people have heard back from Hutton wether they got a scholarship or not. I have not heard a thing. But yesterday they sent out the financial aid award letter with no mention of a hutton scholarship. Does this mean I am not getting one or should I still wait and see.

I went on an overnight visit, and the girl I stayed with told me that sometimes it takes awhile to give out scholarships because they wait to see who's actually going and who's not. I'm not sure if this means they'll be giving out scholarships until May or June, but maybe there's still a possibility? The girl I stayed with was a little vague on the duration of time they give out scholarships.

D received a letter today offering her a Hutton scholarship so they are still being awarded.
